A city is continuously evolving and its buildings are a perfect proof of that. When going into the historic part of Linares, visitors will have the opportunity to contemplate magnificent noble palaces and religious temples.
.
One of the most notable consequences in the city, from the urban and patrimonial point of view of the mining golden age, was the industrial architecture. Few streets lack today the presence of this style. Walking through any of its streets is like looking at a showcase dominated by façades dated from the 19th century. The red brick, the glazed tiles and the wrought iron are a perfect combination of some of the most emblematic buildings of Linares.

Carretera de Torreblascopedro, s/n Linares Jaén 23700 Españahome
Description
The English Cemetery of Linares was the first Protestant graveyard ever built in Andalusia. Many British people came to the then borough of Linares with the aim of making business by extracting lead. They brought an unknown technology in this area, called Cornish. Its main advantage was the increase in productivity, which provoked a migratory phenomenon without precedent in that time.
The economic influence was obvious, but foreigners also brought other aspects whose legacy still remains in our society, culture and religion. All these features are present in the English Cemetery. A stone staircase leads to its gate and after it there is a leafy garden that delimits the streets of the graveyard. It also decorates and highlights the sobriety of the tombs preserved since 1855. The English Cemetery of Linares is currently part of the Association of Significant Cemeteries of Europe (ASCE).
